Seymouria baylorensis

"Early tetrapod, Seymouria baylorensis, Lived 284-273 million years ago, Clear Fork Formation, Baylor Co., Texas, USNM 21902.

Seymouria shows a number of features that indicate it was a land-dweller: sturdy legs, strong wrists and ankles, a stiff backbone, and thick ribs.  Yet it was still tied to the water, where it would have reproduced."
Smithsonian NMNH Deep Time exhibit.
